College Programmer (CP)

Description

The College Program is a non-scholarship opportunity to participate in Naval ROTC and begin your career as a Naval Officer. It is available to incoming freshmen and sophomores who did not receive a Four Year National Naval ROTC Scholarship (Navy or Marine Corps). Generally, college programmers pay for their first year until they earn a full scholarship with the U.S. Navy. Students applying for the College Program must first gain admission to Tuskegee University and then complete and submit the College Programmer application to navalrotc@tuskegee.edu and jwilliams3@tuskegee.edu

Requirements

  1. U.S. Citizenship
  2. Not less than 17 years old by Sept. 1 of year starting college and no more than 23 on June 30 of that year
  3. Physically qualified by Navy or Marine Corps standards
  4. No moral obligations or personal convictions that prevent conscientious bearing of arms and supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States
  5. Be admitted to an approved NROTC college or university

  • College Programmers do not recieve benefits until they pick up and activate their scholarship.

Responsibilities

Midshipmen are responsible for learning navigation and seamanship, maintaining order and discipline, developing leadership skills, participate in community service and moral events, and take care of themselves physically and academically with the support of their peers, upperclassmen, and staff.
