Description

The college programmer option is geared towards those who do not have a scholarship with the NROTC program.
This still allows civilians to come in and be a part of the unit, but the military does not cover the cost of tuition or the other expenses related to the college experience.
Generally, college programmers pay for their first year until they earn a full scholarship with the U.S. Navy. This is a requirement to continue through the program.

  1. U.S. Citizenship
  2. Not less than 17 years old by Sept. 1 of year starting college and no more than 23 on June 30 of that year
  3. Physically qualified by Navy or Marine Corps standards
  4. No moral obligations or personal convictions that prevent conscientious bearing of arms and supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States
  5. Be admitted to an approved NROTC college or university
