Description

The preparatory program scholarship is focused around students who have great potential for the NROTC program but lack the necessary standardized test scores or advanced course completions.

This scholarship helps potential Midshipmen who do not meet the test score requirements by allowing them to be a part of the program with their first year of tuition covered, giving them the opportunity to strengthen their academic background to increase their scores and earn them the full benefits of the scholarship.

*NPP Midshipmen will not have monthly stipend for their first year*

Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be a high school graduate
  • Meet the required SAT and/or ACT scores. The minimum SAT scores are 550 Critical Reading, 540 Math (1100 combined), and the minimum ACT scores are 21 Math, 22 English (44 combined).*
  • Be between 17-23 years of age by Sept. 1 of the year starting college
  • Have no criminal record
  • Be physically/medically qualified by Navy standards
  • Be admitted to an approved NROTC college or university

Some basic responsibilities of Midshipmen are as follows:
  • Maintain military standards both in and out of uniform
  • Participate in unit events
  • Ensure that you are attending and passing classes 
  • Maintain your physical fitness to preform to Navy or Marine Corps standards
  • Develop your level of professionalism
